The vitamin of the sun
Vitamin D is sometimes called the sun’s vitamin because it is formed when the sun’s rays reach our body. Most of us produce too little vitamin D during the dark months because it requires a certain UV strength for the formation. It is extracted from naturally oily sheep wool but corresponds to the same vitamin that the sun’s rays give us. The capsule is extracted from cellulose from plants. Ship’s vitamin D is manufactured in Sweden.
Functions in the body
Vitamin D is important for several processes in the body to function. It contributes to a normally functioning immune system, which is so important, especially in winter. It also contributes to normal uptake/utilization of calcium and has an important role in skeletal formation. Maintenance of normal teeth and bone structure and normal muscle function. An important role in the cell division process.
