What is Q10?

Q10 is a fat-soluble substance that is easy for the body to absorb. It is common with Q10 deficiency during stress, hard training, or the like. In case of deficiency, a feeling of fatigue and lack of energy can appear.

Q10 is a vitamin-like substance without being a vitamin, and it is found naturally in our cells. It is a substance that the body can form itself and which is mainly produced in our liver.

How does it work?

Q10 is found in the organs in our body that consume a lot of energy, such as in the muscles. In all cells in our body, there are mitochondria, where the cells’ energy is produced. Here, Q10 plays an important role in converting energy from the food we eat into chemical energy. It is then used in the growth of muscles and other processes that require a lot of energy. Therefore, Q10 has long been called the cells’ own fuel. The heart is the organ that uses it to the greatest extent.

Q10 also acts as an important antioxidant, which means that it counteracts oxidative stress and free radicals, contributing to the body’s aging. Free radicals can be released in the body when we expose it to a lot of stress, such as illness or hard work, for a long period. To counteract this, antioxidants thus play an important role.

In addition to acting as an antioxidant and contributing to the cells’ energy consumption, Q10 also protects against the body’s oxidation of cholesterol. This means that the harmful cholesterol is prevented from sticking to the vessel walls.

Found naturally in food

You will find Q10 in oily fish such as mackerel, sardines, and herring in the diet. Besides, it is found in corn oil, rapeseed oil, entrails, walnuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, and vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, sweet potatoes, carrots, and cauliflower.

How to take it?

The tablets are small, and in high doses, you only need to take one tablet a day. As Q10 is fat-soluble, we recommend that you connect with a meal for best absorption.

If you take other medicines, we recommend that you consult a doctor, as Q10 may have a certain blood-thinning effect.

Take the tablet in the morning, because many people find that it makes them into sharp focus.
